Mekenzie | Colorado Springs Film Portraits

Mekenzie is one of THE most beautiful girls I know, I was stoked when she wrote me about taking some photos of her for graduation and just for the heck of it. The day leading up to the shoot was gloomy and overcast, but just before we began to shoot… the skies cleared and the sun shone. This is only part one of her lovely session, all shot on yummy film:)

The Havels | Film Colorado Springs Family

I just love the Havel family, period. I met Rachel at the beginning of this year on a photographers coffee date. We ended up chatting for a few hours and then a few nights later, we went over to their house (which is about 1 block away) for dinner. Rachel and I totally hit it off that first night and have been buds since then. Together we are pursuing our film photography and going together also to a film workshop in Charleston this October, I can’t wait.

We finally got around to doing a photo swap and I’m excited to bring you a few fun shots from their family session.:)

Kelli & Sam | Film Engagements

It’s so exciting to see Kelli and Sam finally on the blog as an ENGAGED couple, finally. For their engagement session we wanted to give a hint of vintage feeling, as that’s a major theme in their wedding. The house we shot in is a house that I nanny at and every corner and crevice has little vintage perks, it was perfect for the shoot!

I’m super excited for their wedding this July, where I’ll be a bridesmaid AND shooting the wedding. You heard that right:)

a Foggy Lake Sunrise

Last month Josh and I road tripped with his family down to Emory, Texas where Josh’s brother was getting married. It was such a fun time and one of my favorite things about the trip was the change of scenery. I went from the dry, brown, downtown of Colorado Springs to green, humid, snake filled, Lake backyard Texas! Josh’s brothers house backed up to a lake and though every time I walked out there I was afraid of stepping on a water moccasin, it was worth it.
Josh and I got up at 6am with a tripod and took photos of the beautiful foggy morning on the lake. All captured on creamy, yummy film of course!
